ABE
(Adult Basic Education) |

Students who perform at or below the 9th grade
on the CASAS (Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems) can improve their basic
literacy skills by enrolling in the ABE (Adult Basic Education) Program.
This program provides non-credit courses in the areas of reading,
language, mathematics and life skills. |

Citizenship |

The Citizenship courses have been designed to prepare
students for the Citizenship test. In this course the students learn the
history, culture, government and symbols of the United States. Students who
enroll in this class must speak, read, write and understand English at ESOL
level II or above. |

ESOL |
|
 |
The comprehensive ESOL (English as a second Language)
program was designed to help students develop speaking, listening, writing
and reading skills from the very beginning (Foundations) through the end of
level V. The purpose of these non-credit courses is to prepare students to
communicate effectively in the English language. In addition, advanced
students who wish to enter American colleges or universities can register
for TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) preparation course
combined with Accent Reduction. |

Workplace
Readiness |

 |
Students who wish to improve their employability skills can
enroll in the Workplace Readiness course. This course addresses the
linguistic needs of the students for obtaining and maintaining employments.
Students learn or improve their computer skills while learning English. |
